I hope I am in the right forum for posting this. I am busy building a TEFL job search engine, and I would really appreciate some feedback on how effective you find it. Especially if there are some major TEFL job sites that I have omitted. As far as I am aware of, it searches all the major TEFL job sites (including Davescafe of course) world wide, but I am still working on it.
ONLY type in the city where you are looking for a job. Entering the country will also work, but the city works better.
The address is:

I would really appreciate your opinion. |

Of course not. But you must remember its a search engine. Whatever is listed on those sites it will pick up....... |

I typed in a rather large city in Japan, got only 10 entries (unbelievable), and one of them was for weather in that city. Ahem. |

Thanks for that input. I have now added eltnews.com and englishjobmaze.com to the search. Both of them have quite a number of TEFL jobs in Japan, and after that got more than 10 pages of job results for Tokyo.
PLEASE NOTE that the results at the top will say 1-10 for Tokyo, but the page numbers are at the bottom - there are actually more than 10 pages with results. The software is not open source, so I can't change that as far as I know.
Don't want to add too many of the small job sites to the listings, because that would increase the chances of getting irrelevant results.
I have tested it with major cities like Bangkok, Seoul etc. and the results sem to be quite relevant so far.

Needs more tweaking. I entered a few other major Japanese cities and got places in China and Korea instead. |

It seems there are not that many TEFL job sites for Japan. Does anyone know of a major TEFL job site in that country that I might have missed? Anyone from the rest of Asia and Europe had a chance to check out the search engine yet?
It searches through all the major TEFL job sites I know of, but I am not pretending to know all of them.

Are you sure about that link Naturegirl? It takes me to a link about learning Spanish....
Anyone else wants to comment on the TEFL job search engine?

At the moment I only have eltnews.com and englishjobmaze.com as dedicated job sites for Japan. There are of course others, like the International job board at davescafe.com which also list jobs in Japan. I am not searching the corporates like Berlitz at this stage, since they only take you to a signup page, not a list of jobs. What is your feeling about this, should they rather be included or not?
I have also added a couple of other big TEFL job sites that I have missed before. The idea is to improve the search engine to eventually pick up every TEFL job on the planet that is worthwhile.

Will anyone with in depth knowledge of the TEFL market in South America please give his/her comments? It seems this is the area where I can improve the search engine a lot, but finding any job sites for South America is proving to be quite difficult. |

Thanks Naturegirl. Many of them are already searched by the search engine, but I will add the ones that are not. Except the Spanish sites. Right now I want to keep the results in English.
It's a trade-off. In trying to keep the results relevant I sometimes have to leave out certain sites. A good example is i-to-i. I just had to make a judgement call that they don't offer a solution that most TEFL teachers would find useful. I might be wrong, but it looks like a bit of a scam to me.
