| Anyone know anything about the BAE English teaching positions? Are they only for male teachers? |

There are lots of threads here with a great deal of information. Try the "SEARCH" function. You will find opinions on BAe are divided. For the purposes of this post I will reamin "schtumm".
Workplaces in KSA are gender-segregated. Alhamdulilah. Praise be to the Lord of Worlds. |

I've also tried the 'search' function for my forthcoming question but to no avail so...what Ive never understood is why some people who persistently mock Islam in a tongue-in-cheek type of way and thereby exhibiting undeniable animosity for its principles also insist on toughing it out in Saudi Arabia, THE HOME OF ISLAM. Surely, they most have other employment options elsewhere and cant be complete professional failures.
Or can they? |

Wow! Junaid, aren't you being a little sensitive here, or perhaps jumping to conclusions? Having read scot47's post for so many months, I did not perceive this as a mockery of Islam, but rather as a sincerely sexist jibe. If you knew our scot, you'd know that mine is the more likely scenario! |

Hey Mia, who said anything about Scot? I never actually mentioned anyone by name, did I? It could've simply been a general question. So, no jumping to conclusions, right? |

Dear Mia,
Having read scot47's posts for many years now, I'd definitely agree with your assessment. He may be a bit of a misogynist (which might also explain why he's stayed so long in the Kingdom), but I can't recall his having mocked religion (though he may mock those whose interpretation is, shall we say, somewhat extreme.)
As for "jumping to conclusions", well, it's hard to see how Mr. Le Seelleur's one-word post (the only other contender) could be considered "mockery."
Regards,
John |

Junaid. As far as I can see nobody has mocked Islam on this thread. And even if they had done so...? This is not Saudi Arabia (or Iran for that matter). We will NOT be dictated to by people like you when it comes to expressing our opinions on matters that are relevant to teachers in the Middle East. |

Dear sheik,
While I can understand your irritation, I think that it's probably misplaced in that Junaid was not, I'd say, attempting to "dictate" what could be posted here; she/he (though I'm pretty sure she's a she) was simply expressing an opinion.
But I must admit, it took me aback a bit to see you so stalwartly leaping to scot47's defense. ( :

Well, I agree with Uncle John, Uncle Scotty is a man of faith and a grand-father, I am sure that he has never and never will mock the religion of Islam or any other religion.
Now, back to the issue of Uncle Scotty hanging Sheikh in the tree, and lashing him 99 lashes for his mockery of Uncle Scotty's Scottishness! |
