And to add to what Apsara said...
It's also a five star resort, and that comes at a price! Personally, I'm the budget traveller from hell and wouldn't stay in a five star place (unless someone else was paying!) ... But hey, whatever works for you! |

I'm normally a backpacker myself but at this time of year it is leaving and returning to Japan that is the real kicker. The way I'm looking at it is that the 2500$ could have either covered my airfare home or airfare to Fiji with staying in a 5 star resort as a bonus.
I will definitely be hitting up some of the smaller islands around Fiji, doing a few overnighters at some prime beaches or divespots and just using the resort as a homebase. That being said, if the resort is full of beautiful japanese, aussie and kiwi girls, I might spend a little more time at the resort.
I am so looking forward to trying that Kava drink. I hear it's pretty trippy |

I'm so jealous. I'm going to Osaka for three days. Woo hoo. Had to nix a trip to South Korea because the cheap flight days clashed with my girlfriend's high school reunion. I know what I'd have chosen, but I'm not Japanese.....
Have a good one! |

I'm going to Bali myself, but since we're cashing in Orix points that we have with HIS, the trip itself is not that expensive as our flight charges are fairly low. Haven't figured out how much the damage is includng a few nights in Taipei (1 on the way out, 2 on the way back), but shouldn't be too bad.
Holiday packages around a holiday time are always dearer, no matter where you are. That's the trick, if you can get time off when it isn't busy, you can grab some real bargains. That and booking in advance generally saves a bundle. And yes the little JR packages can be good deals, we also do the rental car/train options as well. |
