Hullo there,

I hold a CELTA and have eight months' teaching experience, but no degree. Was just wondering if anyone knew of any websites/forums/agencies which tend to have a decent amount of non graduate jobs on offer? If it helps, I am looking to teach young learners.

Cheers!

Hi,

Quite hard to find accurate names or info. of schools, especially from the UK.

Try:

No degree means 'EF' level job, but once you are here and have a foot in the door, the opportunities are many.

It is possible to work somewhere better than EF with no degree - without a DOUBT - but they may not hire you from the UK with no degree.

Good luck!

Thank you, that's very helpful.

Not that I'm out to create a monster, but I've never quite understood what exactly is so bad about EF. I have seen the threads on here and from what I gather, people largely seem to hate them because they're a big chain and they don't pay very well. Other than that, they seem reputable enough to me.

Not all are bad - but certain ones have poor management - which will trickle down to the poor teacher.
It is a business - therefore, it is there to make money. Some do a good job at this and provide decent ESL; others, do not.
The pay scale is the lowest around, but with free housing it is manageable.
As a stepping stone to bigger and better things, especially if this is your first teaching job, then it is fine. Most stay a year then move. Others sometimes stay longer, maybe a promotion etc. If it is just for fun and to see the world it is fine.
Reputation is like anything in Indonesia - because it is foreign owned it is perceived to be great. But, franchises let the side down considerably.
