Hello everyone!

My friend and I just got our TESL certificate and are struggling really badly for jobs. We've sent out countless resumes to numerous coutries, ideally we want to work in Laos since I somewhat speak the language, but so far no bite! Sad We're both very friendly young Canadians with no degrees or experience. (We're trying to bank some money to finish with our schooling in Canada). We'll teach anywhere we just want to get our foot in the door! I'm not sure if this is the right section to post this, if not then sorry. Embarassed Oh, were 25 and 23 if that helps? Thanks for reading and this is such an awesome forum btw! Smile

Someone can correct me if I am wrong but it is probably near impossible to find a job in Laos from abroad unless you are getting hired to work at an international school. Good luck in trying to find a job in Laos.

With no degrees, you are going to find it nearly impossible to land work because most countries require the degrees for work visas.

Canadians your age qualify for working HOLIDAY visas, though. Look into them. Good once in your life and for only a year max.

What kind of TESL certificate do you have? TESL Canada requires a degree in addition to the TESL methodology/work experience.

MIght be able to find some jobs in China. Or possibly teach in exchange for room or board, but with no TEFL, degree or experience, it'll be tough, but not impossible
