I saw the crescent moon & planets triangle up here in Northern Cal just coming out of work last night.
At 5 pm. It gets dark way too early here.
But it was an amazing sight!

I had noticed it too here in Las Vegas, but didn't know what it was all about until I saw this thread.

A little more detail about the Teotihuacan event; as much as I know at present. It will be Jan. 31 (Saturday overnight to Sunday). There will be cultural performances (music, dance), scientists, lectures, workshops, telescopes. Climbing any pyramid is not obligatory.

I will be whole again long before this event takes place (the pins come out next week!) and am very interested in attending. Maybe we can organize an excursion and go as a group. Are you there, Guy?

An overnighter, eh? Could be interesting. I have family visiting that period of time I'm afraid, but it does sound cool.

A reminder that the Noche de Estrellas is taking place this Saturday night, Jan. 31 at a site near you!

I had posted above about the one in Teotihuacan, but in fact it is taking place simultaneously at multiple venues, 19 archeological and historical sites all over the country. Here in Mexico City and nearby, it will be at the Zcalo and at Teotihuacan. See Sedes on the left sidebar at http://www.nochedeestrellas.org.mx/estrellas_w/ for details about all the locations around the country.
