Hello people:

Roughly how many days should my private school admin be giving me for paid holidays this C-New Year? I'd like to say that I will be getting two whole weeks of paid holiday this year, but it seems that *one* working week will be all that's given. Is this a sham? Opinions please.

What kind of private 'school'?

What kind of contract did you sign?

Does it conform to SAFEA?

Check your contract.

Holidays should be clearly stated.

If your working at a training school/language mill 7 to 10 days is the norm. If your working at a university or college, expect 6 to 7 weeks off. My first year in China at Joy School in Hefei, I received a week off for May Day, summer vacation, and ten days for Spring Festival. Hope this helps.
