Hi all
I have some more Madrid questions, I'm writing from Seville and am sure things are done differently here.
There seems to be alot of talk about split shifts, working a few hours in the morning with a big break, then a few in the afternoon with a big break, then a few in the night, and all off site classes. Is this how the average job runs there? So If you don't wish to spend your entire day in the freezing Madrid winter, are there other options?
I'm sure this has been asked more times than Madonns movies have flopped, but how much would I need to live and save a bit in Madrid? 1,600? is this achievable?
I have papers so to get the alta in social security isnt a problem, but I have one month left of benefits that would be cancelled if they give me the alta which I don't want to lose. Any way to get around that?
Ok, a long shot, but if anyone has lived in Andalucia and Madrid please make some comparisons!
Thankyou |

1600 is definitely realistic with papers. With papers you could always ask a school to "officially" pay you two months worth of pay on the second month and pay you an "advance" after the first. The other way would simply to work black for the first month, but schools that would allow you to do that may not be the best.
The other issue, if I remember rightly from your other post, is arriving after the second mini-hiring season in January: don't forget that any work going will be going then and later on it will be a lot more difficult to pick up hours, especially when companies are being very cautious with their training budgets in the current economic climate.

Things are not looking good in Germany, so Ive booked a flight to Madrid on Jan 4. Have papers, fluent Spanish, lots of experience.
Is that a bit late for the mini-hiring period or about right? Most of the jobs I see advertised are only offering 1000 to 1200 Euro. I guess its better on the ground, right? |
