Anyone really like their company? Why? I plan on applying for many companies but would feel more comfortable applying for places I'd something positive about first. |

Competition is pretty steep here. Most people will not tell you the good places where they currently work. Safer that way.
Just find a place with a decent-looking contract, post questions about it here, and you'll get a fair appraisal.
Been on these forums for over a decade, and people are still asking the same questions, mostly about finding that lucky charm. Doesn't happen often, and most people are unwilling to put in the leg work. |

Speaking NOT from personal experience, but from friends' experiences, GEOS rarely get bad press. That may be agood sign or it may be that disgruntled GEOS employees are all smuggled to North Korea. |

Yeah, Ill have to disagree with AgentMulderUK on this. I was a former GEOS employee and I didnt know of any staff member that actually enjoyed working for this company. Generally speaking, I think the staff enjoyed working with the students and being productive, but people got worn out by GEOS' insatiable greed, constant pettiness, and confusing paperwork. Basically, Ive heard that all the big chains are the same, but the discrepancies really come down to your school staff. It pretty much goes without saying that teachers who have co-workers that are sociable and friendly will tend to come away with a positive experience, whereas teachers who work with staff that are really strict and conniving will walk away with a negative feeling. But, to reiterate, I never met a co-worker that actually liked the company or its business practice. |

I too have heard more negative than positive about GEOS. I'd need to be hard pressed before applying with them.
I liked working for ECC. It was definitely more pleasant than my time at NOVA. Going to different schools each day of the week keeps things more interesting (especially when you get a student who latches on, gets your weekly schedule from the staff, and signs up for your lessons all over the region). I think the students like the greater range of teachers too. The staff was generally pleasant and helpful, and I thought the students were more engaged and engaging. |
