Does anyone have any more info on this?

KUWAIT CITY, Dec 6: The Ministry of Interior (MoI) will suspend the renewal of visit visas immediately after the Eid holidays to prepare for the implementation of new visit visa charges KD 15 for one month, KD 50 for two months, and KD 100 for three months, reports Al-Watan Arabic daily quoting sources from the ministry. Affirming the ministry has conducted a comprehensive study on the issue before specifying the abovementioned fees, sources clarified the proposal, which is currently enforced in neighboring countries, will be fully implemented either in January next year or after the National Day celebrations.

Sources warned foreigners, who will be arrested for holding expired visit visas, will be deported to their home countries and will be banned from entering the country again. However, those undergoing treatment in Kuwaiti hospitals or any other special circumstances are exempted from the decision, sources explained.

I assume a way to raise revenue.
If you are here and working illegally on a visit visa, 100KD every three months shouldn't be a huge drop out of your 700KD + per month ocean.
If 100KD every three months is too much- get legal.

Similarly if you are only here on holiday for a month, 15KD is peanuts compared to what we have to pay to visit the UK.

No I think it is full fees for everyone- mind you the British visa fees are extortionate, so it is about time the Kuwaiti authorities reciprocated in kind.
