The Henan Zhengzhou PSB recently told me that the Residence permit, come this summer, will be no more.

The waiban office told me that switching between schools will be more difficult. The accounting of paperwork will be more strict, more papers needed, letters of release from the previous schools more important, etc.

Anyone else hear more?

Do you know if this proposal will be national or only for Henan Province?

The phase out of the residence permit should be national. The increased attention on switching schools, etc, I would imagine it would vary a lot between provinces. That's why I was wondering what others have heard, but maybe it is a bit early yet.
