the market will drop substantially this year but people will turn to english to get themselves out. MNCs are still desiring to put their centre of operations in China and this does produce ample demand. If class sizes are regulated, and the volume of instructors stays the same, the prices paid for a FT, in theory, should shift up.
MOre teachers are coming. The true question, will they produce a quantity to meet the demand? With a population of over a billion, and a over a third of the population employable and wanting someenglish ability, i do not believe thay the demand will be satisfactorily met.
Our supply curve is slowly shifting one way, but the demand curve is shifting in anogther direction at a far more rapid pace. |
