The innate superiority of Saudi civilisation is proved by the fact that we have attendants in gas stations. And Mutawwaeen. The USofA has neither. Barbarians !

Someone somewhere in management suddenly realized that these guys were actually PAID to stand out there and do what any normal healthy human could do by themselves. Rolling Eyes

Same theory explains why you have to bus your own tables in fast food joints.

Thank you so much McDonald's and ExxonMobil...

1. Buddhists. My wife is a Malaysian-Chinese Buddhist. She put Buddhist on her visa form and was in Saudi with me for 2 1/2 years in the early '90s.

2. Gas station attendants. Last I knew they are required in New Jersey. Self-serve fill-ups are against the law there.

3. More stuff that is totally and undeniably irrelevant. So sue me:

Now class, swallow your chewing gum and write a 600-word compare/contrast essay about Battle Mountain, Nevada and the Magic Kingdom.

Background:

--Battle Mountain received the Armpit Award for most remote and desolate place in Nevada and there were celebrations sponsored by deoderant maker Old Spice. (True story)

--KSA: Jeddah same-same Geneva, believe me.

--Battle Mountain is the world's fourth-largest producer of gold. Mining jobs start at $60,000 and currently they can't find enough workers.

--Magic Kingdom: well, we don't need to repeat what the major export is. EFL jobs start at $24,000 but can climb to $50,000+, and there is no shortage of TEFLers. OK, petroleum engineering jobs probably start at $125,000.

--Battle Mountain residents must drive 50 miles to the nearest Walmart, 55 miles to go to the movies and 75 miles for Chinese food.

--Riyadh same-same Rio, believe me. And you can always go to Bahrain.

--They have dances in Battle Mountain and no muttaween to put a stop to them. Well...there's also a legal brothel. No cinema, but a legal brothel. Long live Nevada freedom.

--KSA: Harahm this! Go to Dubai.
