Hi, I am an Aussie living in Europe, have been away more than 15 years off and on. I have a BA and Celta. Was wondering if anyone could recommend language schools or places to teach in Adelaide.

LM Training Specialists [ http://www.languagecentre.com.au/ ] and TAFE have the government contracts for AMES [migrant ed] cornered. LM's a good place to work if you can get in. However, all work is in 10 week contracts: very few permanent jobs.

The 3 universities each run ELICOS for intending NESB students, but you'd find you need post grad quals in TESOL/linguistics. A Celta won't work.

There are some private English colleges. South Australian College of English is the biggest, and worth a look.

Following on from what eslstudies has mentioned, it would appear that in the TAFE sector, even good post-grad. qualifications (eg Grad.Dip Ed, B.Ed, M.Appl.Ling.,etc) may not be enough ! In Queensland, Victoria - and, probably, SA, as well - evidence of having completed some sort of TAFE certificate-level course in workplace training is also required.
