I am new to this, so patience please! I am trying to find out about some teaching positions in China, and have a multitude of questions.
1y might y) Has anyone lived in Jinjiang, Fujian Province? I am interested in a job there teaching kids for Gymboree, but can't find it on the map! Does this mean it is going to be so small/remote that there won't be any other foreigners/English speakers there? Not having any fellow English speakers anywhere around sounds miserable to me! Thanks, JCG |

If you're in contact with the school, ask for Email info for at least three teachers, past or present.
Ask them very pointed questions about the teaching, students, administration, pay, housing, co-workers, community, nearest town, entertainment, other foreigners, etc.
Don't trust what the school says, as administration often tells you what you want to hear. |

Jinjiang is a town neighboring the port city of Quanzhou and is the locale of the airport. I suggest you google Quanzhou to get in touch with expats there. Of course, if you really want to be around a lot of native-English speakers, you should come here to Shanghai, where everytime you turn around you see a foreigner (which is exactly what a lot of FTs want to avoid). Each to his own, Julie. |

The Chinese google is called baidu. Sometimes you can type the pinyin in there and run a search and get some hits. Just switch your search to images. |
