Do you guys know of any reputable one on one teaching institutes in Tokyo or Osaka besides GABA?
They don't have a guaranteed minimum, which is a big problem given today's economy. |

I was going to say the same thing. GABA does not usually equate with that word.
Why are you so limiting in the type of place where you want to work? It's like looking for a needle in a haystack. |

There are not a lot of one-on-one places around- that is Gaba's main gimmick, they were the first ones to be doing it on any kind of scale and even they have not been around that long. I have come across one or two ads for recent start-ups that are obviously copying Gaba's model, but they would still be very small and probably pay their teachers on Gaba's model as well.
If you need a guaranteed income you'd be better off with traditional eikaiwa or being an ALT. |

Just cause i'm teaching one on one now and it seems to be my forte. i do group classes once or twice a month and i'm not very good at it, as i tend to be introverted in groups.
i emailed GABA's recruiter but never got a response. that's not a good sign. |

How about getting a qualification in teaching Business English (or at least reading up on it and buying some supplementary books) and moving into company classes? Groups tend to be small, and even group classes sometimes shrink to one when things get busy in the office...
