Hello, I am an American with a B.S. degree, but no ESL certification. However, I do have 12 years experience in the field. What are my chances of finding work and what salary can I expect? Also, what's the visa situation like? How do you get a working visa?

You need a CELTA or else you won't get a visa.

Do an online TEFL course and the knuckleheads will give you a work permit... for some strange reason, they don't seem to care about experience... it's the government and their silly rules...

I think it is fair to say that there are more opportunities away from the main cities. The further east you go would present opportunities I am sure. I mean places south and south east of Ankara on the map. You will need a certicate in TESOL for a work permit. I am pretty sure in saying that your degree can be in any subject for employment in a language school but must be in English for a school.
The hourly net rate would be between 15 - 20 YTL. A teaching load would be weekly 18 - 24 teaching hours. You would probably get to share a furnihed flat with one or two other teachers.
