hello, I'm a native briton (sounds caveperson-ish doesn't it?). I have BA (arabic/linguitics) celta+ nine years' experience,I'm thinking of headin to Italy. Please could anyone advise me of a good school to work for?
a) decent pay/upstanding school
b) chance of privates
c) scenic (probably in the north west/east, perhaps?)
d) friendly students
I'm looking to work for about 6 months
Ta loads.

Hmm, difficult.
a) decent pay and language schools don't tend to go together. Look for AISLI schools for better standards.
b)chance of privates everywhere but not really compatible with working for language schools and they come with contacts and time...
c) scenic - Italian LAkes - Como, Dolomites - Trento, Bolzano, - just get a good map and look for the hilly bits!
d) they generally are. Not always motivated but always pleasant...
6 months? Seem b above, and now is not the best time (unless you are talking for next September). If Sept then take a short holiday and have a mooch: fly into Milan, Treviso, Torino etc. and have a look around and come with your Italian version CV which you can drop off in likely places. Recruitment is not often from abroad (unless they are looking for naive fresh meat) and actually seeing you will up your chances no end. |

ta loads for your replies. A lot of schools in Italy ask for 'recent photos'? I'm not adonis or apollo but why is that? Does anyone please know the legality of this? - A lot of British connected schools do this too..yet in britian this never happens..and may even be breakin the law.
Thanks
