Hello, I am currently working in Guangzhou. Im an American with a 2-year-degree, a TEFL and a few years of experience. I am considering moving down to Shenzhen; however I have heard that the standards for getting a work permit are about the toughest in China. I have also heard that the Shenzhen PSB does, in fact, care about and check-up on FT's. Can anyone confirm or deny? |

I teach for Beida in Shenzhen. They had no problem getting me the documentation I needed for my Z-visa, even during the olympics craziness. I was, however, back home in the USA and applied for my visa at the San Francisco Chinese Consulate.
I had a bit of a hiccup because my Z-visa ran out before my school could schedule my residence permit appointment at the PSB. Since then, I have had no additional encounters with the PSB. |

It's no problem at Shenzhen University either. I really think the employer is the key to this. If they have the guanxi..... |
