Are there any EFL teachers out there that are teaching in Singapore, or that have taught in Singapore? I am currently entertaining the idea of leaving Mexico to work in Singapore. I, like the previous poster, have not been able to find much info. except for a couple of complaints about 2 particular schools. Does anyone have any info. on EF Singapore? Good or bad - aside from the fact that it is an EF franchise.
Thanks |

I'm here
Most of the work here ( if you are teaching local singaporeans) will be ESL. There are some students who come from Indonesia, Thailand and China for short language programmes. There are some private language schools that hire foreigners (a lot of the teachers here are locals). If I were you, I'd go to the Singapore yellow pages website (do a google search) and get a list of all the names/ addresses of language schools. Then I'd start writing.
You have to have a degree relevant qualifications to be certified by the Ministry of Education. Starting Salary (depending on where you work) is around 3000.
Good luck. |
