Is the 5 minute-recorded presentation broken up, like do they tell you:
Okay, now do the intro.,
Okay, now do the elementary school lesson
Or do you just go on uninterrupted like a 5-min. monologue? Are the other interviewees in the room so that you can include them in the lesson? Does the recruiter act as the student in the lesson?
Thanks for any info. |

Depends on how nice your interviewer is, I guess. Mine gave us the choice since some people like to keep the momentum going and get nervous if interrupted, whilst others like a moment to breathe and prepare between each exercise.
I'm sure most would let you choose if you ask. |

I actually have both, and find the more Japanese I know, the easier it gets here.

I am honestly amazed (and depressed) that people actually find this to be any sort of revelation.

I know right. My friend was going to Gaidai in Sept 2008. I met him the summer before to prep him. I told him to get @$$ in gear and study Japanese like his life depended on it. He never got around to it. When he got there he was in the same Japanese class that I took. Yet he had finished 4 semesters of Japanese at our college, and I only had done 1.
I don't think it hits you how little of a language you know till you go out of your comfort zone. 7 verbs seems like a lot util you talk about things not involving waking up, going to school, studying, eating, drinking, returning home, and sleeping. |
