|
|
There is a lot of conflicting information about this process. Can someone hold my hand and explain the first five steps to obtaining a FM3 on my own.
I am currently in DF.
Nothing is apostilled yet (degree is in the process of)
I only have online proof of bank statements.
Not sure about hiring a lawyer.
Anyone have five clear steps? Are there five clear steps?
Thanks, VN |

If you're applying for the kind of FM3 that allows you to work, you don't need proof-of-income such as bank statements. |

I needed bank statements for an FM3 work visa in Merida, when I initially applied for my FM3. |

Exactly right. Certain categories of FM3 applications do require financial information to be provided. That's why it's necessary to know which type of FM3 the OP is applying for. |

Here are a few essentials if you're getting it with a school:
Birth Certificate
Tourist Visa (not expired!)
Passport
TEFL Cert. (apostilled)
Offer letter from employer
ID of whoever offered you the job
Tax statement from the school
Copies of all of the above
About $1,600 pesos (if the FM3 is on you)
Patience
Did I miss anything? It's been a while. |

As far as I can remember, when I applied for an FM3 to teach "de manera independiente" in the D.F. I needed the following documents:
passport
FMT
proof of residence (phone bill, electricity bill, etc.)
TEFL certificate (no apostille needed because it was from a Mexican training program)
college diplomas (with apostilles)
letter in Spanish explaining what "actividad lucrativa" I planned to do while living in Mexico |
