I hold a J.D. (law degree) and master degrees in social work, public administration and labor relations. I have 20 years experience as a corporate trainer and training mananger, I have also served as an adjunct instructor at a local college. In addition, I have taught ESL and citizenship classes on a voluntary basis here in the states.
I am planning to pursue a CELTA.
My question is what are my employment options in HK based on my background? Am I looking at a low paying position at a language school?
Would a M ED. in Literacy with a concentration in TESOL greatly improve my chances of landing a good gig or am I going to be viewed as a novice until I get more teaching experience under my belt?
Also, I am 48 years old...will that be a barrier?
Thanks in advance for your advice! |
