It takes me less than a minute to tie my shoelaces, and even less to hit the shift key to use capital letters. Just my two cents...
...now go tie your shoelaces! |

Seems you went back and edited your post so that your writing errors would no longer show up while you are trying to be the Grammar Police. |

Well, most places don't hire during the Chinese New Year........
Have you checked any local websites? |

The public schools are still out for Spring Festival. Perhaps some FAOs have your inquiries in their short lists but don't want to work over the holiday. If you are looking for public schools or universities, expect things to open up within a couple of weeks and moreso in about three weeks when it will be apparent which FTs haven't returned from vacation. Resubmit to get your materials on the top of the pile. |

The end of February is a much better time to look for a job. There's not much out there from the middle of January until March. |

basman, yes, mandu's link doesnt work, but you can still see the two addresses he/she was typing.....
btw, shenzhen stuff isnt a job board, its first and foremost a social networking site that has a couple of esl job ads. i recommend it highly as a place to meet some friends or a gf/bf, but not as a place to find a job. |

I would not waste time seeking employment in China per-se. I would open up my scope a bit more. Korea pays much more than China. If you are hell bent on finding a job in China, as some other posters said earlier, wait for the public schools and/or colleges. The so-called "ESL schools" are always hiring because teachers are always quitting once they are hip to being lied to, scammed, etc.
I have also noticed what appears to be a few "recruiters" using the same ads but now using a new name to try and recruit people as well. That means their previous d/b/a has failed or people got tired of sending in their credentials for fake jobs and never hearing anything back.
I called China last PM and spoke with some friends there that were working in a major real estate firm in Beijing. They fired all 80 foreigners there due to high wages, (15,000 RMB) per month, and kept the Chinese on staff. Now foreigners seeking homes or offices don't trust the Chinese and they are losing business, much like schools lose students without teachers. These things go in cycles in China.
I would avoid the south of China as their economic situation is worse than most of the north. Stay with colleges and/or public schools. They normally offer longer term situations and have a bit more stability. Wages are a coin toss.
This is not a good time to be in China in the first place, at least for employment. The Chinese are fearful of a deeper recession and I noticed many "ESL schools" now offering mortgages for ESL training so that students can afford to attend.
Worse case scenario, jump a flight home and stay home. Teach at home, pay taxes at home, and avoid being treated like a farm animal for low wages. |
