Strictly speaking, is a Bachelors degree required to work in KSA? Or, in lieu of one will an appropriate international EFL certification satisfy the visa requirements, and if so, which certification is considered best? |

Dear n3ptne
With "just" a BA, the only jobs you could get in Saudi would be ones that you would be sorry to have.
To acquire a decent job in the Kingdom would require at least an MA is TESOL or Applied Linguistics.

No. You will not be granted a visa to work as a teacher in KSA unless you have, at the very least, a BA in a relevant subject. |

You need at least a BA, officially speaking. However, recently there was a thread by someone saying he got a job in a private school in Riyadh through connections, and he didn't have any degree yet.
And as for "relevant subject", that's also not true in my experience. Couple of years back, I had colleagues teaching ESL at a university and some of them had bachelor's degrees in fields completely unrelated to English, such as 'liberal studies', physical education, history, economics, etc. And some of them literally had no experience at all in academia. |
