I am a teacher living in Saigon currently, wanting the opportunity to volunteer in an orphanage, independent of the stupid "volunteer tour trips" offered by many international companies.
Does anyone know of any orphanages in Saigon (District 1/3/5/10) that look for a couple hrs a week-independent volunteers? Or might allow one? Even if you just have names of orphanages, that's helpful. Google only pulls up the tours.

You might try the 15 May School. I'm not sure what their current status is, but it's worth a shot!

There is one in Go Vap for young kids, some with disabilities. Green Bamboo is for older street kids.
The school ILA does a lot, contact someone there, they might help. |
