What and risk the rising sea levels? No thanks, I'll stick to the mountains. I'm looking forward to the beach being about 4 hours closer though. |
I don't like the hot, humid weather that prevails along the coast; that's why I live in the center of the country at 8000 feet, where the weather is warm or cool and dry almost the whole year long! I don't anticipate many people (Mexican or expat) moving to the coast and away from this desirable climate, even if the sea levels don't rise as MELEE has mentioned above. |

Most Mexicans don't believe me when I tell them that property prices can go down! Having seen it happen 3 times in England, I know they can. Here in DF, the building of new houses and apartments continues and sooner or later supply will outstrip demand, together with a credit squeeze and general lack of confidence by buyers, due to the recession. In our delegation of Benito Jurez, one-third of homes built since 2000 are unsold. We are looking to move again, and I know we will be lucky to realize the price we paid 3 years ago! |
