Hey I'm new to the whole teaching thing and I've decided to come to Chile in August. I hear that it's kind of like the second peak hiring season. I was wondering if anyone could offer any feedback on what the job situation will be like when I come down. Should I get a contract first or just show up and start looking around? |

well the summer there starts mid-december, and from that point till the end of february there are no jobs really for teaching english, so you might be able to get a job in august but it won't be for too long.
i'm moving at the end of may and taking a class through here - http://www.tefl-academy.com
good luck |

You'll probably find something in August but schools are starting to recruit THIS week to start in March/April. Once Christmas comes there is little or no work for 2 - 3 months. |
