|

Where did the thread on M-Trading disappear to? I work for M-Trading and was happy that someone was getting the information out about them. So much of what I read was so true in regards to how they deal with us teachers. They are still providing our salary late. This time they paid us on the 5th (Thursday) by check. Of course we couldn't cash these checks until Saturday after work. Same old same old with them. All I can say is avoid coming to Saudi Arabia on a business visa to work for a company like M-Trading. |

Ask the j**k who put E.N.'s name out there for all to see. Aspersions were said about him, but it makes one wonder about the quality of folk he left behind if they're willing to do something so offensive. I don't know the man from Adam, but it seems that he left a real lulu (an' I don' mean "pearl") behind.

Are you saying someone from Jubail Industrial College caused the thread to vanish? What exactly did they say? Just curious. You can PM me if you can. I would be surprised if anyone here would talk badly of "tacomaboywa" or other people who have left. My understanding is that no one here likes M-Trading and were fully supportive of those who left. We are all biding our time until we can find something better. |

All indicators point to that. Well "they" (actually, "he") did...and, by name...followed by an immediate "mod edit" and, apparently, after that, by a "Yoink"-ing sound.
Again, it seems to have come from one of your workmates or a troll in the know. However, if as you say, you're surprised is anyone would talk bad about tacomaboywa, then could it have possibly been someone in management? I mean, what more efficient way to to have a thread pulled than commit such an egregious act? Remember, Global Skyline Solutions posted a thread...briefly...threatening court action against folk who said naughty things about them.

Hmmmm, whoever "he" is, I bet it is not a co-worker. Well, at least I don't think it would be. It must have been a pretty blunt message to be so quickly "mod edited" as you say.
I suppose it is possible that it came from management. With what we have witnessed from M-Trading I wouldn't put it past them. I hope "tacomaboywa" will comment. Maybe he knows something.
Thanks for the info by the way! |

Well I did as advised (from previous threads) and asked to have the full contract emailed to me and also asked for any digital photos of their accommodations. The kind person on the other end of the DSL connection jovially agreed and said he would send it right away and then disappeared into cyberspace never to be heard of again.

I saw that message too NCTBA and noted that it was a post one from what appeared to be a non-native speaker... I assumed that it was someone from M Trading. I'd also assume that he was immediately banned for that sort of outting of someone's real name on the board. That is a major no-no... I too was sorry to see the thread disappear as it did tell a very unpleasant tale.
BTW matthew156, I haven't heard of any employers who will supply photos of the accommodations. So, I wouldn't get my expectations up on that happening and certainly wouldn't use it as a deal breaker.
Has anyone else heard of an employer supplying photos of the housing?

Wow, I don't visit the forum for a few days and all sorts of things happen. So the thread is gone because of one post. If it is the same M-Trading manager that is posting on another site then I'm not surprised. He's going by some name of "Cyber ESlayer". He's acting as if he was a former colleague. But he is not!
My experience is still on the net. Just visit: http://www.tulbah.info/ |

Yeah, the Manager over there is so pissed off that I would dare post information about what happened while working for them. They have even resorted to slandering my sister as well. They are acting like lowlife thugs. It is not my experience alone. Here is what someone posted on my website today (edited for this forum):

They promised to pay me my flight - they didnt. They promised to pay me from the first moment I entered the country - they didnt. They promised to process my business visa (illegal for work purposes anyway) within a few days (it took several weeks). The list of promises is endless. And of course, we have to beg for our salaries each month. The Indian and South African guys that have been here for 3 years between them, sometimes have to wait up to 4 months to be paid. Of course, they are dark skinned with no qualifications so they think they have to stay put. M Trading is a joke outfit. Saudi is an awful place to begin with so we dont have to put up with f**king as*****s like this. BTW, Hail is a f**king sewer."

Good to hear from you "tacomaboywa". Since you left JIC there was a lot of talk about your letter of resignation, sometimes referred to as "the bomb". Just over a week ago we had a meeting with the JIC bigwigs about fixing the M-Trading problems. Nothing much came from it. Just an M-Trading meeting where they demanded that we sign their work agreements. The funny thing is that it was basically the same "Preliminary Offer" but slightly modified. It still said "Preliminary Offer" at the top. So nothing changed.
As for the comment left on your site, we have heard of the stories from Ha'il. Glad someone from there is posting as well. |

I bet that must have been an exciting meeting. LOL. Doesn't surprise me that they would still try to make you guys sign something that is still not a real work agreement. But I guess as long as you all are on Business Visas it will never be official work anyway.
Perhaps the guy from Hail will post here as well. We need more to tell their stories. |

Photos of housing ? Never heard of that one. Sounds more like what you get in a holiday brochure. Don't believe them either. |

We used to hand out photos of housing at JIC; one of the staff went round and photoed his flat. We also used to get the secretary to go down to the local Panda and check out the prices of a long list of goods.
Problem was they went and downgraded the housing for single people to the studio apartments which residents dubbed 'the dogboxes'.
But nobody told us so we still sent out pictures of the older, superior accommodation. It was only when one recent arrival bitterly accused me of being a lying (MOD edit) that I found out about the new accommodation, and had to delete the whole section on housing. |

SJ's post illustrates the pitfalls of trying to do things in KSA. Someone else does something that nullifies your work ! |
