I will throw this one out to all the fellas. What are your opinions of women from Japan and Korea. This may be an extremely shallow question but which country produces the cooler and more attractive lady. These things can help make a decision easier for a brother. Any insight is welcome. Cheers.

Japanese women are more stylish. Korean women all look the same but good. This has been beaten to death on the Korea board,

Korean women grow mould under their fingernails. Japanese women grow mould under their toenails. You decide which is skankier.

Seriously man, the most beautiful and attractive woman is the one whom you love (or fancy something rotten at least anyway). There is none other. It is all in the eye of the beholder. And you are that beholder, not me, not no one but you.

This one is for the ladies, which is better the Candian man or American? Which one is more handsome, sweeter, and more intelligent? Personal compatibility doesn't matter for me, I just want to know by country, which man is for me.

Thanks. The thumb is pretty much healed, although I've taken to hiding it under a plaster. This is partly so nothing will get under the nail, partly to avoid letting the blood under the nail freak out my kids, and partly so I can milk all the sympathy I can get from my cow-orkers.

Probably the only thing more painful than having a fingernail half-ripped out is having it completely ripped out.

Lynn, you wouldn't happen to have considered Maltese men, would you? We are also handsome, sweet, and intelligent. Modest too.

Korean women- the ones that I knew who were not married when I lived in Korea were awfully immature. They would still look to their mothers for instruction on every little thing, and were basically treated like little girls until they got married. Women generally got married at age 26. (95% of the women that I knew who got married while I lived there had arranged marriages. I knew one who married a foreign teacher, and this was pretty radical.) Most of the women that I knew who had been married a short time seemed a little depressed and unsettled by the shift in role from pampered daughter to pampering wife. Most of them were pregnant within the first 6 months of having been married. The women I knew who had been married for some time were quite autonomous from their husbands, and many spoke derisively about their spouses.

Japanese women- I know plenty of women in Japan who are single, by choice or not, into their 50s. I find the very young women in Japan (early to mid 20s) to be rather immature, but a bit more independant than their Korean counterparts. Young women in Japan are not forced into marriage, but I think that many of them put pressure on themselves to find a mate. I have heard many women under 30 lament that they want to find a boyfriend. When I ask them about various single men that we know they give me a list of problems with that person (too short, not handsome, doesn't have a fun personality, not their type, not wealthy enough, etc). I think that a lot of the young Japanese women that I know are total romantics and are waiting for Mr. Perfect to walk into their lives and sweep them off their feet. Many of the women that I know who have been married some time are also very autonomous from their husbands. They often seem a bit lonely. They never speak ill of their husbands, and truly seem to miss them when they have to work long hours.

perhaps this is not the comparison you were hoping for?

Nice job Celeste. The only thing that I will add is that beyond the age of thirty both men and women are under tremendous pressure to marry by both their companies and their families. At this stage arranged marriages do happen.

Older women tend to think that the idea of romantic love is a selfish western concept. It is accepted while men and women are in their twenties, but once they go beyond the big 30 the families begin to worry about the future of their children and themselves. Japanese children are coddled and spoiled for the longest time but there are strings attached.

Divorce, although becoming quite common, is still widely frowned upon.

Perhaps it's just the ones in London then...

For me, a fringe down to the eyelashes with a mullet-style crop on the back and sides (perhaps with red highlights) is simply not cool. Smile Even the bog-standard Korean "side parting with a fringe" is better.

Korean and Japanese girls seem to have more similarities than differences, at least when considering them from a western perspective. They are both immature, or certainly seem to act like it. Most are spirit-crushingly dull, and have interests that rarely go beyond speaking in artificially high-pitched voices and shopping. I can count on one hand the amount of intellectually stimulating conversations I've had with Korean/Japanese women.

I take no pride in this, it is simply how it is for me. I sincerely hope that my perceptions are wrong!

I hate to inform you all of this but the Japanese and Korean population came from the same place...China. The only differences, however slight, are through evolution to the surronding climate; not forgetting some disgusting habits but we've all gotta few, huh?

You already have a man! Save some slime for the fish! Razz

Neither:

1) They're never handsome and intelligent at the same time

2) They're controlled by their hormones - especially during the playoffs or when a set of hooters in a string bikini walks by.

3) They PCS at least once a month and become overly emotional - signs include anger and jealousy, tantrums and pouting, "you don't love me enough!" accusations and other self-imposed psycho dramas.

4) All men spend money like it grows on trees - on such useless things like yet another cell phone with the latest gadgets (but honey look! I can now take upside-down pictures of my ****), a lawn mower (when you share an apartment), a bbq (when you're vegetarian), and my favorite, yet another blue shirt to go with the 45 others he has in his bulging closet.

5) If he claims to be successful - he's living with his parents

6) The ones that are well groomed, polite, respectful and eloquent, stand tall, have a great sense of humor and know how to be your best friend - are gay.

7) If they're handsome and sweet (no really, stop laughing) - you have either discovered your alcohol limit, or the best actor in the world

Cool If they're sweet but ugly - Congratulations! You've adopted a son

9) The macho man - is a mama's boy.

10) And Finally, the all around genuine great guy - is extinct

Interesting true story: I was at a club minding my own business with a dry gin martini in hand, when a tall, blonde, silver-eyed, strickingly handsome young man of amazing build and impecable tastes (he was in a black designer suit!) comes up to me and whispers into my ear with a purring, playful undertone.

"Hey gorgeous. That drinks on me! ....Listen, can you be a babe and pretend to be the woman I'm having an affair with? I need to get my girlfriend off my back. ...You have to make it look real, hang all over me and cling onto my shoulder when she arrives. I'll take you home after." *Suggestive winking and broad smiles*

My response: .. let's just say I've never seen a man change so many colors before in my life. (white, green, red, blue, yellow, transparent)
