| expatgirl, I think your lengthy list of experience did you a disservice because it led you to dismiss Vietnam based on shallow observations, with the assumption that you could apply your previous experiences here. You added to that some preconceived notions based on what you had heard or read. As I said, to each his own, and I'm not suggesting that you made a poor personal decision, but you don't know enough about it to be giving advice. |

I responded to this post because teachers were asking for opinions on VN.
I had recently returned after a month visit intended on assessing it as a possibility. My observations I thought were accurate given that most people I met while in VN drew similar conclusions to mine. Did I have to be wrong with negative observations? Does that mean that only positive responses were valid?
My post was talking to very experienced, maybe older ESL/EFL teachers that might be considering VN. We also read this board - note our joining dates! |
