Who wants to shasre their experiences of the best job they have had in
KSA ? And the worst ?
I have had 5 spells in KSA. Best job I have had is the one I am in now. I am not just refrring to the ackers in that paycheque but to everything. The worst I have had was my first when I worked in a sceondary school - in the days when government schools still hired British teachers.
Of course I am sure that we will have the nabobs of negativism say now that ALL jobs in KSA are bad. For them I suggest a school year teaching somewhere REALLY difficult ! Lagos ? Airdrie ? Bethnal Green ? A Language School in Spain ? |

The Best...subcontracting for Boeing at Riyadh AB ...tho, with the WORST Scottish boss (sorry Scot) in history...a BAe vagabond who used to manage swine in Rhodesia.
The Worst...King Faisal School...hands down!

Sub contracted to Sabic and another to BAE were the best.
EF and Language solutions take some beating for the worst |

Well, Uncle Scotty, I have had only one job in the Magic Kingdom, and it was neither the best nor the worst! |

Well, I only had one job in the Kingdom and I was more than satisfied. Good salary, 3 flights a year, shared car and free petrol. I liked my compound, too. But, and it's a big but, such boring work. Pleasant young students but so f***** boring! The country itself is the pits. |

Like some other posters, I had only one employer in the Kingdom: the Institute of Public Administration (IPA.)
Since I stayed with them for nineteen years (five in Jeddah; fourteen in Riyadh), clearly I thought (and still think) it's a good outfit to work for.
In my opinion, the IPA and KFUPM are two of the best - though you can probably make more money working for, say, BAE (I think it's called that now, rather than BA) or Aramco. It's tough to get hired at those two places, though.
You might also make more working for some others teaching the Saudi military - but the trade-off there is the work itself is usually deemed to be tedious at best and soul-killing at worst. |

That's easy I only worked at two places in my 5 years in the Sparkly Kingdom, Berlitz and JIC.
Baretitz Riyadh were easily the worse employer I've had anywhere, they still owe me 8000SAR and a ticket home (that was back in 2002, hope for the sake of anyone working there that they've finally got their act together).
JIC was a decent employer and treated me pretty well, no complaints there.......the reason I left was down to Jubail not JIC. |

Unless they've undergone another permutation, they're called "BAe Systems", John.

Dear NCTBA,
Thanks - a rose (or other entity) by any other name would smell the same.
Regards,
