OK, so we've had 'best holidays' and 'who's taught in the most places' now to combine them - who has been to (for longer than 1 weekend) the most countries, which ones and which has been your favourite?
My list so far - Australia, Belgium, Czech Republic, Cyprus, Egypt, France, Germany, Greece, Hong Kong, Italy, Indonesia, Malaysia, Oman, Romania, Spain, Singapore, Turkey, UAE (and obviously as I'm from the UK - England, Scotland and Wales)

Favourites - Turkey, Oman and Germany Smile

Least favourite - Wales Sad

I think it unlikely that I would remember them all...it would certainly take too long to even try, and some have changed names. I'll always have a soft spot for Peru and South Korea. And Trinidad. Not to mention Morocco, Spain, Italy, Greece, Isla de la Plata (anybody been there or know where it is?), Turkey, Colombia......

In more-or-less chronological order:

Ireland, Guatemala, England, the Netherlands, the Czech Republic, Germany (a few day trips/one weekend trip--does that count?), Slovakia, Greece, China, Hong Kong (which I consider to be basically a separate entity), Japan, Taiwan. I think that's it. Plus day-trips to Vancouver (while staying in Seattle) and Vienna, but those don't meet the criteria.

Oddly enough, despite 17 years in San Diego, I have only done a few day trips & one over-nighter to Mexico (although I don't really consider Tijuana to be fully Mexican).

These are the ones I can remember, in roughly the correct order of discovery. I will omit repeat visits (pretty much all of them are).

My homeland of Canada, USA, Netherlands, Germany, France, Ireland (lived there), all 4 main parts of Britain (also lived there several years), Spain, Portugal, Belgium, Switzerland, Austria, Czech, Slovakia, Hungary, Romania, Ghana, South Africa (lived there twice), Turkey....

My several day stopover in Bulgaria en route to my month in Ghana won't count because I wasn't allowed to exit the airport. Frightening place it was-- boys in uniform with big gunspatrolling the place, nowhere and nothing to eat, concrete benches to sit on, overflowing toilets (overflowing from up top, as they were those old models with the pull cord and tank above you)...

Speaking of airports... I love Schiphol airport the best and have spent more hours there than necessary in the past few years, hate Minneapolis and Charles de Gaulle. The Vancouver arrivals section is gorgeous now, very watery and elegant in an earthy way. I love the selection of beers in the domestic section of Montreal's Mirabel airport departure lounge...

Speaking of nice airports--

Portland's (that's Oregon, not Maine [or wherever else there might be a Portland]) is absolutely gorgeous! It was under construction for a while, and damn, they sure did a nice job!

I also love San Diego's--not because of the airport itself, but because of the flight path leading up to it. Right over downtown, with views of the bay, ocean, Balboa Park, etc. Pilots hate it, though, because there's a parking garage just at the end of the runway that they have to steer clear of.

I was surprised at how miniscule Prague's airport is.

This is fun, I don't think I've ever listed them before. Let's see.... I'm from the USA, then there's Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, Belize, Chile (lived there), Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, Brazil, Bolivia, Peru, England, Ireland, Greece, Bulgaria, Egypt, and Turkey (living there now). My favorite is still Mexico (the first one I ever visited!). And I'll agree on the Amsterdam airport issue, I've also spent a bit of time there in the recent past and rather enjoyed it. And I'll be happy if I never go back to Charles de Gaulle!

This is fun. I don't know if I can remember them without a map handy. I like this question because I can answer it without feeling like I'm bragging, even though I am!

US (home) Canada, Mexico, Guatamala. Peru, Chile, England, Scotland, Wales (I know, this should only be one, GB, but it sounds better this way), Tahiti, Cook Islands, FIJI, New Zealand, Australia, Indonesia,Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, the Phillipines, Ireland, Greece, Hungary, Czechoslavakia (or can I say the Czech Republic and Slovakia) East Germany, West Germany (or do I only say Germany), Yugoslavia (or can I say Yugo, Crotia, Slovenia etc.), Switzerland, Austria, France, Italy, Spain, The Netherlands, belgium, Egypt, Israel, Turkey, Taiwan, PRC...

I love the South Pacific and Latin America.

Next up: Tonga, the Solomans, Panama or Baja. Very Happy

Am glad this has given you something to play with while you should all be working Smile

I have this mad ambition to go to a country beginning with every letter of the alphabet before I'm...........however old (the age keeps changing). Am getting there. There are of course problems - apart from Wales - can anyone think of a country beginning with W or X?????
This is quite a fun thing to do really - well if there's nothing good on TV anyway - did it with some colleagues once whilst sitting in the grubby 'smokers room' in a previous job and we looked at cities as well....

And will be adding Vietnam to the list in a few weeks!
