I worked there last year.
The commute is not so bad. Leave at 6:23 - get there 6:50. Without fail.
In fact Dasman provides a bus. leaves at 6:15 every day. use that.
Mahboulah (where Carlton Court is) is just as good/bad as any other area. What family things are there anywhere else? Anything you want to go to, you have to drive to. (Because it is 45C) So you can do it from mahboulah. It also has good access to Fahaheel with its shopping (christ knows why people think of that as an activity) and the golf at Ahmadi and Buck Sands. There are also a few "bars" nearby.
The apartments have seen better days, but if you are single you can have a new one in Salmiya. They are tiny.
Swings and roundabouts.
Jaded apts - big with swimming pool, phone line, DSL available and great neighbours (honestly) and covered parking.
New apts - tiny in shitty Salmiya with no phone or internet, no parking and no heating in winter.
Beaches near Carlton Court at Egaila, Fintas, Fahaheel are as good as elsewhere and nearer. Plus BBQs and volleyball is usually organised at weekends by Carlton Court residents. That doesn't happen in salmiya apts. |
