i don't know about Vietnam ...
but i know that you can get a visa in malaysia with no stress. Costs very little...about 10US if i remember correctly...ready in a few days.
If anyone is intersted....
Similar cost in jakarta but takes a bit longer. i think its a bit more of a hassle in Jakarta. when i went there had to wait behind a load of agents with sack fulls of passports - labour for japanese factories i suspect. they told my friend it wasnt possible there if you dont have a residence permit, but when i phoned they said it was. Seems like even the japanese embassy get influenced by their inconsistent Indonesian environment.
good luck |

| I've heard conflicting things about this in the past. Does the visa Westgate sponsors allow you to go apply at other schools after your contract is done? Obviously they can't make you leave if you have a one-year visa, but I'm just wondering how useful that visa would be for somebody like me who wants to get another job and stay longer. |

| It's an instructor visa good for a year. Use it as you like after your 3- or 7-month stint at Westgate, but instructor visa is not for eikaiwa, so you'll have to change it if that's where you want to work. |
