There have been a few posts about unrealistic salaries in the forum recently, which made me remember a recent advert in the Metro (morning freesheet - this was the London edition) newspaper asking for Native English Speakers and promising a monthly salary of 3000...
How realistic is this? From what I can gather, Vaughan looks like one of those "method" schools that take unqualified people who can follow their plans and pay correspondingly (see most of the English schools along Oxford Street in London). But that salary is way over what I could imagine most qualified teachers earning (unless they go autonomo and get some very very good clients).
So, to come to a point... Is that salary realistic? If it is possible, is it a job that one would want?
I'm v.sceptical, but maybe I'm being hasty... anyone got any comments? |

3000e sounds a scam.
I lived in spain for 8 years and taught for 3 of those.
My friend's mum (Spanish) is a senior secretary in a town hall, 30 yrs exp, earns about 1300e.
V Systems has featured in several posts in this and other boards. Do a big search.

Yeah, this just seems a bit of a strange one - VS does exist and appears to be a 'serious' company, just not one that I'd particularly want to work for - but yeah, those numbers seem crazily unrealistic. It seems to be a little different to a lot of the scams on this board (unless it's someone pretending to be VS... then pulling all the other ones).
From other posts this may be a figure based on a 40-hour teaching week - which in itself sounds unrealistic. I suspect it's a misleading advert. I thought I'd post it here, because if it did turn out to be true it would add something extra to consider. |

They sure exist and there are other posts on here and other places.
Most people slag them I think.
I have heard of very few folk earning 3000 in teaching. the only way is to do 121 with rich geeks at 50e an hour, or bank managers. U really have to be cream and to have built up a following PLUS work 60 hrs week. Dont forget In Spn u must pay some kind of tax, and to go autonomo is over 300e a month.
Honestly if u think 3000e true I think u dreamin! Are u an experienced teacher?

I don't think it's a scam, Vaughan are notorious for promising unrealistic salaries which in practice would require 50 clock hours per week. |
