Hi there. I'm a Canadian and I'll be applying for a PNET position soon from Hong Kong (I've lived here for a few years already). Would someone be able to tell me how I can apply for a Certicate of No Criminal Conviction from Canada in Hong Kong? Can I get this done through the Canadian Embassy in Central in HK, or would I have to contact the relevant government department in Canada directly? Thanks.

Try this website: https://www.truecheck.ca/

You can order it online and have it sent directly to you in Hong Kong. You have to specify that you want it sent to your address in Hong Kong or else they'll send it to your last known address in Canada. It will probably take about a week or so to arrive.

Thanks X-box Theory, I'll check this out. It sounds like just what I need. By the way, have you or someone you know used truecheck.ca before?

It wasn't until I read your message for the second time that I noticed you wrote "X-Box" (the video game console) instead of "X-Bar" (the linguistic theory)...lol. To answer your question, I have used it. It's very straight forward and does not take much time to do either.

Oops sorry about the slip up. Actually, I called up the Cdn embassy here in HK, and they recommend to go to the main police station to get my fingerprints taken and then send this along with all the necessary documents to the RCMP in Ottawa. I think it takes at least 120 days for them to process my application! So it's good to know you've used truecheck.ca before. I think that's the option I'll go with since it's so much more convenient and way faster. I just hope it's good enough for my PNET application with HK EDB.

Sounds like it's much easier than the UK's own CRB check, which can only be done in the UK.
