To the OP,

I would like to apologize for some of the rude, crass and truly inappropriate replies that you have received in your thread by some of the self-proclaimed gurus and landlords herein. Just discard them. Many of us have to endure their taunts.

Listen to the poster who wrote from Beijing about his experiences. If you have a sense of adventure, hutzpah, etc., you might just make it here in China. True, it will not be easy, but it is also true that this is China and it can still be done.

Not every immigrant to Australia or New Zealand or the US arrived in a first-class suite on the Queen Mary with an Oxford degree in hand, and look how many prospered. Same here.

Again, my apologies for the invective.

Thanks for all the optimism, from the good chunk of you haha. And thank you Ramblin' for sharing your experience with me, it really gives me some confidence. Obviously i wont know what its going to be like until i actually experience this feat, but thats what im craving. I know this is going to challenge me, and really put my wits to the test.
I am good with people, and i know im going to be a great teacher. I guess thats what really counts. As for living conditions i know it will take some getting used to, but i'll acclimatize like anyone else. Thanks for all the good info!
