I've just applied to EDB's primary NET scheme but want to keep my options open by directly applying to schools as well. A NET friend of mine advised me to look into DSS schools such as Tsung Tsin Primary School in Prince Edward. I was told that they have a local stream and aninternational stream; the latter taught by NETs. There's about 20 NETs there, all are class teachers, and they have reasonable hours (that is leave around 4-5pm) and pay (that is comparable to EDB's NET scheme) . I was wondering if any NETs on this forum would have suggestions on some DSS primary schools that's worth looking into.

What's a DSS school and do teachers there also get a housing allowance like on the NET scheme?

A DSS school is a Direct Subsidy School. As I understand it, they get money from the government for each child, but can also charge a "top up" fee to the parents. It was an idea to allow schools to offer different areas of study to parents. E.g. The school might have a good dance or drama department.
The school can offer whatever salary it thinks you are worth. It does not have to strictly follow the civil service pay scales.
