Hello,
I am moving to Santiago at the end of April to look for a teaching job. Since I've never been to Santiago before, and I don't speak Spanish, I'm a little worried about finding an apartment there. Does anyone have any suggestions? Are there any agencies I can go through? I've looked on craigslist but the prices seem a bit high--is it possible to rent an apartment for cheaper than $300 per month?
Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Yes it is possible but it might not be in the safest community. If 300/month includes bills (aka gastos communes) then youre doing alright. Living in Chile is not cheap and inflation is on the rise. You might want to look into shared accomodations or live with a family (to help you learn Spanish) Check out www.elrastro.cl (a weekly buy and sell) for accomodations |
