Matt, did you say you are working for a government university or a private university? If it is government university, I am surprised that they brought you in through Bahrain. Are you coming in on a business visa?

BTW, not everyone agrees with NCTBA's mantra. Sure, a lot in KSA "sux" .....but not everything for everyone. As I said above, a good sense of humor is the key ingredient, because no matter what your experience, Saudi Arabia can be funny as hell! Cool

Hi dear Mia,

Well I was told by the Canadian university that is in charge of the curriculum jointly with the university that it is a govt. uni. Holy cow I said university too many times.

I am well aware that everyone is entitled to their own opinions and the right to freedom of speech. Although even some of what we say may not be agreed on we still possess the right to say it. Except for racial, sexist or anti-anykind-of religion.

Regards.

Matt

Oh, dear, Matt....we all left that particular right at home. It certainly doesn't exist in KSA.

Dear Mia:

I never seek to persuade, I merely seek to inform. I did my 10 and got out. I wish all in the Kingdom of Humanity the best. And always remember this: You've got a place in Heaven as you've already spent yer time in Hell.

Dear NCTBA,
Well, since I was in the USMC AND spent so long in the Kingdom, does that mean I get to go to Heaven twice?

"And when he gets to Heaven to ST. Peter he will tell, One more Marine reporting Sir, I've served my time in hell"?

Regards,
John

Dear Sheikh,
I fear not. It stands for Ozymandias:

I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said: "Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shattered visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamped on these lifeless things,
The hand that mocked them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
`My name is Ozymandias, King of Kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!'
Nothing beside remains. Round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.

But, of course, it would be hard to fit that on a T-shirt.

Regards,
John

Dear NCTBA,
You're quite right; Santa Fe IS "heaven on earth." I apologize for getting so greedy.
Every day I need to remind myself: Count your blessings, count, your blessings. count your blessing, you idiot.
Thanks,
John
