Hi,
I'm currently finishing my PhD in the unusual field of Critical Theory and am interested in teaching at a university in Latin America--particularly Mexico. Can anyone give me tips on finding university specific positions?
Thanks. |

uni positions here don't usually pay as much as those in the US. try contacting them directly. I know of one in Peru, pays 700 usd a month, you teach 23 hours a week. If you're intersted, PM me. they get you a visa and you have to do 17 office hours a week. |

Teaching what?
If you're interested in teaching EFL, let's have some details of qualifications.
If you're hoping to teach in your PhD field, I hate to disappoint, but it seems unlikely to me.
THere just aren't a lot of openings for critical theory professors. (Anywhere, in so far as I've noticed- but Latin America won't have more than anywhere else.)
Best,
Justin |

Try to see if your university will send you abroad. Otherwise, salaries here in LA leave a lot to be desired. |
