Have you done a search here concerning this educational snakepit?

If you are a certified teacher with decent credentials, I would expand my job search to elsewhere...

I repeat... do a search and read the stories over the years from King Faisal School. I'll just repeat that they have a significant number of teachers who don't last the first week... A friend of mine lasted two contracts there, but he has the skin of a rhinoceros and little or nothing fazes him after a lifetime in the Middle East.

I read the negative reviews but a former teacher wrote to say that conditions had improved considerably. Anyway, I'd still like to apply. Anyone have an email address?

Did you happen to notice that the "former teacher" IS a FORMER TEACHER. The school shoulda held on to that lil' gem! The only thing to improve at the KFS is, supposedly, the length of the school day. They still have the same lil' spoiled princes.

VS, I say if folk read the negative threads and STILL wanna go. Who the H*ll are we to enlighten them. Go with God!

Matt, the reason the school gets so much "disrespect" is because this sham of an "international school" has brought disrepute upon itself for going on TWO decades now. Look at the "positive" posts and then look at the "negative" posts. Compare the numbers and try to imagine why people have sooo very little good to say about it.

Thanks NCTBA,

So let me get this straight. KFS is in Riyahd and KFU is in Al-Hofuf. They are both run independently.

This was what I wanted confirmation on. I guess I wasn't too clear.

Regards.

They have an online application form:

http://www.kfs.sch.sa/English/ateacherfront.aspx

Good luck!

The few positive posts have sometimes been suspicious... post one syndrome. One eventually admitted that he was management.

Yes, they have hired some good people over the years who have tried to make things better. But, they can't get a new student body. Whoever is managing or teaching can't change the fact that the school is controlled by the very spoiled ill-behaved children and their parents who think their little darling can do no wrong... ever... and must make the rules (and get A's). It makes for a not terribly pleasant experience.

O.K., Matt. I get you. There's this "entity" called the King Faisal Foundation. As the King who got shot to death by his nephew back in the 70's for reasons that would have this thread pulled, he was, before becoming the Crown "Prince", the Minister of Education. Therefore, as if magic, anything associated with "education" is associated with him. Rolling Eyes Hence, the KFF.

Now, the KFF funds the KFS and the University Preparatory (Predatory?) Program. I am unaware of KFU in Hofuf, but the only positive thing about living in Hofuf is that it's closer to Bahrain for some "Bahriani Bebsi"! Laughing

I just checked the KFF and it talks about connections with the KFS, some other inititives and something called "Alfaisal University". So, I'd think that there is NO connection with KFS and KFU. And, in fact, the KFU makes no mention of a connection with the KFF.

I hope that this more fully answers you query. Bottom line: Stay away from KFS...or KSA or that matter!

Mathew
The places just happen to be named after the same person. Would you expect there to be any connection between instutions named after Queen Victoria ? Or Vladimir Ilyich ?

Vladimir Illyich? Not Lennon (or Lenin) by any chance. BTW, what's an ''instution''? Maybe you and I should be in an ''instution''.
Best wishes
