I am considering a job in Qatar. What's the G scene like there?Do you get hassled? I am in a long-term relationship and don't scout. My partner and I are pretty private people. Can g--s live with their partner? We can where I'm based now. My partner would only come on visits anyway as he lives in Saudi. |

See my previous post where I believed you would be co-habiting on a long term basis. Tell people he's there for a break from Saudi - goodness knows there are enough expats who escape to Bahrain on a regular basis.
So long as you don't advertise your relationship and avoid any vindictive or nosy neighbours you'll probably be OK - just be aware of the consequences if you do run into either or or both neighbours.
Usually expats are housed together in flats or compounds that their employers rent in bulk - so your neighbours are likely to be your colleagues - could be touchy
Your chances of flying under the radar are better if you are both white westerners. There is an active gay population here, but most are discrete and recognize the risk they are running. |

Millie's right. Color & race make a difference. We've had dozens of Gs (as you call yourself) here at the Gulag & the ones who've survived have stayed 'under the radar'. There are Gs all over the place, the Gulag, Education City, QU, CNA-Q & in the private schools. If you do come here, keep a low profile. Avoid the ladyboy scene as there have been raids. |
