So if I get a Z visa, then I can sponsor my husband, right? That's what I understand from http://www.china-embassy.org/eng/hzqz/zgqz/t84245.htm
And if this is true, do we have to apply at the same time?

Though on another thread people someone said that spouses can sponsor their spouses

When you apply for your "Z" visa, you will be asked which family members, if any, will be accompanying you.

Their names will be included on the invitation letter and subsequent documentation forwarded to the Chinese Government as accompanying members.

They benefit only from a right of residence. They do not benefit from a right to employment, etc., etc..

You cannot sponsor your husband as you have no legal standing vis-a-vis the Chinese Government.

BTW, it seems that every spring for about the last 4-5 years you decide that you are coming to China, from Peru, and it has yet to happen. Surely China is 500 times more prosperous than Peru, safer, and more stable IMHO, knowing both countries well and having had the pleasure of being robbed in broad daylight in front of several policemen at around 12:00 in downtown Lima.

It's hard to get out of Peru, yep, China is better, but finding high salaries is hard. Thanks for the info. The only downside is that my husband couldn't work, legally.

No, in the beginning, it's true, your husband could not work...

but

if he found a job later, then HIS new employer could process the work application for him.

It's not impossible, this is China..

And when you say a good paying job, how much are you thinking?

8000rmb after tax, plus the regular benefits. Thing is, I'm not looking for a uni job where I only have to work 12 to 16 hours a week. I don't mind teaching 25 hours and having office hours, it's what I'm used to.
