I am wondering if anyone can give me any information on the City of Huludao in the northern part of China. I am having trouble location any info on it. It seems to be an industrial city, so I am wondering if anyone can tell me how polluted it is. Also what the weather is like. I am looking into a job offer there, and the conditions for the job seem good, I will be posting the contract details on here for help latter on. But I am just wondering what kind of a city it is. If anyone is in the area, or has been there, your help would be awsome. Thanks a lot,

The name sounds slightly Mongolian, so I reckon it is in Inner Mongolia. It must then be a "newe" city, that is one that was built during the last 50 to 60 years. It will be an eye sore!
Climate: Temperate zone, but very arid. Sandstorms, hot summer, Siberian winter.
I would give the place a miss!

Hey, thanks for the tips Rodger, I can't say how long the city has been around for. The city is in the Liaoning province. It is on the coast at the top of the inlet between Beijing and Dalian. The city has about 1 million people which would be nice. But to be honest, those cold winters might be a problem for me. How much would the coastal effect mild the weather??
I am asking the school for more questions, but again, I would like to have some teachers opinions on this. Thanks again,

So I was totally off trarget with my suggestion it might be in Inner Mongolia. But Liaoning is very cold in winter too! Summers are better, perhaps a bit humid, but not as bad as Guangdong.
Anyway, I don't think it is an atteractive place as cities in Liaoning are almost all uninteresting. The province is also referred to as China's 'rust belt', owing to its huge number of heavy industries that are now mostly idle.
You can say Liaoning is a crisis province.

Well, that is more good info to know. I had heard the term "rust belt" before, I was just kind of hoping that this would not be part of it. But its good to get an honest answer. I would still like to hear more from anyone that is out there that has been there. But I also have a few questions on another city that I am looking at. The city is Fuzhou, in the Fujian province. Rodger have you ever been there. Or heard anything about it. The school is the Ladder English Training School. I am just doing talks at the moment with them, I need to send them a few more things, but any info is awsome, thanks

I have been to Fujian as a tourist many years back. A lot better than Manchuria, to be sure! The city is uninspiring, but that is true of most towns in this country.
Fujian is subtropical, you won't need a heater in winter. In summer, you will need an aircon, though.
If you can work in XIAMEN, same province but closer to Guangdong and Hong Kong, it would be a lot better.
But Fuzhou is not bad. Just not scenic.
