You're Ireland!
Mystical and rain-soaked, you remain mysterious to many people, and this makes you intriguing. You also like a good night at the pub, though many are just as worried that you will blow up the pub as drink your beverage of choice. You're good with words, remarkably lucky, and know and enjoy at least fifteen ways of eating a potato. You really don't like snakes.
I got Ireland and I'm Irish!
I actually do know at least 15 ways to eat a humble spud...where did that cultural stereotypes thread go to?

Like johnslat, I'm Siddhartha.
Country: Switzerland. First Switzerland on the thread, I think. Like Laura C, my country is ancestorally significant. Three-quarters of my ancestors were Swiss. |

You're A People's History of the United States!
by Howard Zinn
After years of listening to other peoples' lies, you decided you've had enough. Now you're out to tell it like it is, with all the gory details and nothing left out. Instead of respecting leaders, you want to know what the common people have to offer. But this revolution still has a long way to go, and you're not against making a little profit while you wait. Honesty is your best policy.
I'm proud to say that I've never respected leaders in my life. I'm still traumatised by having my free school milk taken away by Thatcher the Milk Snatcher.

You're Spain!
"You like rain on the plain, as well as interesting architecture and a diverse number of races and religions. You like to explore a lot, but sailing, especially in large groups, never really seems to work out for you. Beware of pirates and dictators bearing bombs. And for heavens' sake, stop running around bulls! It's just not safe!"
And I have been looking into moving there recently.

lots of fellow thais on this board.... but the first roots, i think
You're Thailand!
Calmer and more staunchly independent than almost all those around you, you have a long history of rising above adversity. Recent adversity has led to questions about your sexual promiscuity and the threat of disease, but you still manage to attract a number of tourists and admirers. And despite any setbacks, you can really cook a good meal whenever it's called for. Good enough to make people cry.
You're Roots!
by Alex Haley
While almost everyone agrees that you're brilliant, no one knows quite how to categorize you. Some say that you're a person with an amazing family tree. Some say that you're just a darn good storyteller. Others say that you're both and don't much care where to draw the line. What is known is that your people have been through a great number of trials and that you are where you are because of hard work. You have nothing to lose but your chains. |

As for the book quiz:
You're Dune!
by Frank Herbert
You have control over a great wealth of resources, but no one wants to let you have them. You've decided to try to defend yourself, but it may take eons before you really get back what you feel you deserve. Meanwhile you have a cult-like following of minions waiting for your life to progress. This would all be even more exciting if you could just get the sand out of your eyes. |

Libya!
The funny thing is, just last night I jokingly said to a friend, "well, Libya's opened up, maybe I should look for work there." HMM! |

You're Cambodia!
Life's been really rough, but it's slowly improving. You know
way too much about the skeletal structure of humans, mostly from being forced to study it. This has given you a fear of many things, most especially the color red.
The future has to be more promising though, and your greatest adversary can now never come back to hurt you any more.
Hmm. Scary.
You're Inherit the Wind
To you, the learning process is inherently about controversy. If
people aren't having their minds stretched, how could they possibly be learning? This makes you a good but unpopular teacher, and the people around you are ready to make it a federal case. All you're asking them to do is evolve a little. But they would like you to be more creative. You would make an excellent lawyer, even though people think you love monkeys.
Oh dear! I swear the monkey thing was just a rumour. |

And the answer is...
You're Switzerland!
While most people think you're sort of stuck up, it's really just that people don't interest you that much. That's why you'd rather just stay out of everything and be as neutral as possible. Somewhere in there is an ability to be a psychiatrist because you're so objective, but you might just be too cold for that .
Cold? Moi? Me thinks not. |

After being named Switzerland, I laughed when I saw my book identity.
You're The Guns of August!
by Barbara Tuchman
Though you're interested in war, what you really want to know is what causes war. You're out to expose imperialism, militarism, and nationalism for what they really are. Nevertheless, you're always living in the past and have a hard time dealing with what's going on today. You're also far more focused on Europe than anywhere else in the world. A fitting motto for you might be "Guns do kill, but so can diplomats."
Geez! |

You're Vatican City!
You're pretty sure that you're infallible in all that you do or say, and it's hard to say whether you're right. You have a lot of followers, most of whom will do whatever you say without question, or line up to see you ride around in your spiffy car. Religious and reserved, you have some wisdom, but also a bit much contempt for everyone around you. You're also fabulously wealthy, no matter what you say to the contrary.

You're Brave New World!
by Aldous Huxley
With an uncanny ability for predicting the future, you are a true psychic. You can see how the world will change and illuminate the fears of future generations. In the world to come, you see the influence of the media, genetic science, drugs, and class warfare. And while all this might make you happy, you claim the right to be unhappy. While pregnancy might seem painful, test tube babies scare you most. You are obsessed with the word "pneumatic".

Obsessed with th word pneumatic--- well, not so much the word per se...

Dear khmerhit,
Hold on there - we can't have TWO popes. The Catholic Church already went through that back in the Middle Ages. I'm afraid you're going to have to resign, seeing as I was elected first.
Regards,
Pope John |
