sorry Harry, not everyone get's the inside scoop. Maybe this should be published in the US as well, since this beer is still available over there. anyway...

				| Last year(2008),one of my foreign mates left Poland and gave me the contents of his liquor collection.
Amongst the contents of assorted vodkas and whiskies, was an unopened 4 pack of Tyskie. One evening shortly after getting the stash,I cracked open one of the Tyskie and took a few swallows.I thought it tasted really strange but finished off the can anyway.

A few minutes after finishing it,I rushed to the toilet and spent an hour or so there. No need to get into that any further!

Went back later to check the can and noticed a few tiny specks of rust near the top.Looked at the expiry date and noticed it expired on September,2005!

I emailed my mate a few days later and said thanks for the 3 year old beer.He said it was probably a leftover pack from one of his parties which was stuffed into a cupboard somewhere and that he had forgotten it was so old.

Don't drink 3 year old beer..........for your own safety! That stuff can go off quickly after it's expiration date. Not to mention 3 years after!

				| It seems that most beer even on tap in pubs is pasteurised and carbonated. Can anyone point me towards some good cask conditioned Polish beer in Krakw? | |

				| Look for "Zywe" in the green bottles. It comes from Lublin I believe and is unpasteurized and 100% natural.More expensive than other Polish beers and is not always easy to find, but it's "real" beer at least. | |

				| I like Polish beer. Okocim on tap and Tyskie are my favorites, and I stay away from the dreaded Vitamin Z. That stuff is nasty.
I do miss the microbrewery ale I drank in California, but I've learned to live without out it, like I had to do with decent Mexican food. What approximates a burrito is served with cabbage and and cole slaw. I know I'm in Poland, but that is just WRONG!

				| California beers are some of the best in the world.
Anchor Steam still ranks in my top 5.

				| i miss a lot of american food, primarily asian food and italian food in general.
italian is atrocious here, and chinese food.....i won't even go there.

for the most part, i think i just miss the overall variety of foods in america. in poland options are limited because the only thing worth eating is Polish food.

and yeah, i've had some wonderful mexican food in the states.

				| Yeah, and you can't get a decent steak and kidney pie or Cornish Pastie for love nor money. Fortunately, I have the complete Delia and can cook my own. Surely there's an American version of Delia (she's a cookery book writer for those who don't know) | |

				| Well, its hit an old favorite of mine, Paulaner. An ok wiessbeer that at least tastes like beer and is relatively pure.
But now after only one pint Im starting to feel light headaches the next day.

Besides the few beers mentioned here I can also recommend Zywiec Porter, sometimes available on tap. Its a bit too malty and sweet and a far too strong overburned taste, but at least its a real beer.

				| Zywiec porter is ok for a half pint.
It's best to avoid any kind of ethnic cuisine in Poland.God love em,they just dont know how to do it right, as they simply lack the skilled immigrant cooks to make it worthy.

Of course you can go to some fancy schmancy hotel restaurant and pay 100zl for a few pieces of sushi and a piece of fish, but who can afford to do that regularly?
