Hi...I was wondering if anyone lives or has lived in Cuernavaca, Morelos. My church in OR has connections with a church there so I am thinking about moving there.

Here are some things I would like to find out before I make a decision:

Does the city have good public transportation?

Is there public transportation available to DF from Cuernavaca?

Are there many TEFL jobs available there?

Is it a nice place to live?

Is it safe?

Any other pertinent information I might need to know?

Thanks in advance for your help Smile

I"m going to PM you, but will put this info here so others can see it.

There is frequent bus service throughout the city because many locals use the bus to get around. There is first class bus service to DF about every 20 minutes for much of the day, with a cost of about 70 pesos...though I left last July so it could have gone up since then.

There are a number of English schools there. Most won't give you enough hours but you can mix and match. I worked at one school only and by picking up private classes, did just fine. I could have made more by working for another school too, but they will all want you at the same time. For me, it wasn't worth it.

I loved the city and it was wrench to leave. By far my favourite Mexican city to live in, though other places are nicer to visit. I found it quite safe and never had a problem. As with anywhere, use your common sense.
