| im planning on going either to santiago or to acapulco. I dont know anyone in santiago but do know people in acapulco. anyone have good info on which would be a better choice? |

This is like, I don't know, Cape Cod vs. Boston or something. These are wildly different cities. Santiago is bigger, more urban, a capital....Acapulco is a tourist resort town on the Pacific Ocean....

It's hard to find a job in Acapulco, too many gringo's, backpackers and people that want to live on the beach coupled with too few schools and Acapulco isn't very rich (The Mexicans aren't anyways).
I don't know anything about Santiago, but I assume you would have better luck there. I have been to Lima, Peru and I thought it was a great city. Warm, dry, right on the water. Friendly people and there seemed to be a good number of schools/jobs for English teachers.
Maybe somebody else on here can help you with some more info.
